Paper, Clay and PVA

This cheap, fast, simple and successful sculpting and casting process avoids the mess, expense and hassle of making a plaster or latex mold. Paper is recycled. Clay is reused. PVA is inexpensive.

Various paper mache processes have been tried and tested by pupils at Stanbridge Earls School for over ten years, under the direction of the Head of Art, Lance Nicholson.

Within three days of making their sculpture, pupils can decorate the dry paper mache cast. If care is taken removing the first cast, several others may be made from the same sculpture. Other techniques and sculpting media are described in Paper, Clay and PVA.

For further information don’t hesitate to contact Lance Nicholson.
